48 Hour Film Festival Wrap Party at NOVA EXPRESS CAFE
(this is event hosted by an affiliate of LighthousePromo)

What makes the 48-hour film festival unique is that teams have to make their entire film in 48 hours—that counts coming up with a script, shooting it, and editing it. This set of films are made the weekend of June 23, 2006, and then showcased on the 27th and the 28th. The screenings were at the Laemmle Theater, and both those nights the Nova Express (located right around the corner) hosted wrap parties for the filmmakers and viewers!!
How do they make sure the film is shot in 48 hours? Clearly it's good to do some advance preparation, but to make sure there's no cheating they kick off the timer with each team drawing out of a genre out of a hat. Additionally, they announce a prop...a character...and a line of dialogue that has to be worked into each team's script in a fundamental way.
